Anonymous asked: I am going to buy a notebook/laptop with Windows Vista, and I would like to install Windows XP on it. I have a few questions about it:
- Will it fully support Windows XP? Or will I have trouble with it after?
- Can I keep both operative systems, XP and Vista installed?
The possible brands of the notebooks/laptops are Toshiba, HP, Acer and Sony. Please answer as soon as possible as much as you know about it. The technicians in the store could not answer my questions. THANKS!

My computer is definitely in need of being wiped clean, but I seem to have lost the Windows XP operating system disc. I called customer support and it would cost me $99 for a new XP disc! Is there anyway I can clear the corrupted files off my computer without having to buy a new operating system disc? Thanks.

I want to have an always-on motion activated security camera that supports wifi or even wired ethernet that can upload to a web server or ftp. I don’t want to leave my computer on all the time.
CBJ asked: My son is 12, almost 13 and is in the 8th grade. He does some gaming, nothing too complicated but I’m sure that will grow. He does use the internet and obviously uses it for school.
I want to buy a computer that may still be useable in 3 years and that will have enough speed and support to keep up with his needs.
I don’t want to spend too much maybe $700 or less.
Is this possible? If so, what should I get??
Nick asked: I use FL Studio…I’d like to run my electric guitar directly through to my computer, but when I plug a cable into my guitar, the other end into the line in / mic jack on my laptop, I get no sound. What am I missing? What do I have to buy to make this work? Is my laptop unable to support this? What do I have to do to make sure my computer will do this?
Any help would be appreciated.

I’ve come across a number of situations where I need to capture audio on my computer, but my sound card doesn’t support it. I was wondering whether, hypothetically speaking, it would be possible to connect the output plug on my computer to the input plug via a cable, and capture the audio currently playing on my computer like that. I know I can capture audio from the output plug using Audacity (an audio editor).
